This scene is from the primitive times of Pokemon. I've reasoned about the extinction of most fossil Pokemon and about the other, who survived in tunnels below earth.
I try to answer.  Arceus wasn't delighted about the quickly multiplication and evolution of the Pokemon, because strong subjects could destroy his power. The Pokemon could stop praying Arceus, maybe even attack him. So Arceus started his "First Inquisition", to decimate them with oodles of Icognito. Lots of fossil Pokemon died, another searched for hideout in the knotted tunnels below earth. Many gangways had been entombed, so the Pokemon stay there until now. Other Pokemon found a way up and evolve to the Pokemon, we know today. Sorry for my bad Englisch. Made for a Pokemon drawing contest with the subject "Fossil Pokemon". |
